Ben Affleck Goes Viral For, Once Again, Looking Absolutely Miserable In The Company Of J-Lo

Ben Affleck is probably my favorite actor. Not in terms of his on-screen production — which, don’t get me wrong, makes him among one of the most important actors/directors of his generation — but more in terms of just *who he is* as a guy. I’ve taken to calling him Slick Benny over the years given his remarkable ability to rise and fall and rise again.

During this chapter of the Ben Affleck story, the 50-year-old writer, actor, and director finds himself in his second go-round with pop star Jennifer Lopez, as the pair famously rekindled their romance some 20 years after it first ended.

If you were to judge their relationship solely based on the contours of Affleck’s face, however, you’d be forgiven for thinking they might be headed for their second split as the Air star and filmmaker was recently seen looking absolutely miserable while opening a car door for his wife. Granted, he could also be miserable because some stranger is filming them completing banal tasks just as walking to their car, so keep that in mind.

It’s certainly been a busy couple of months for Affleck, as his latest film Air — which he wrote, directed, and starred in — debuted to critical acclaim and has become the first movie of the year to be mentioned as an Academy Awards contender.

He’s also gearing up for the release of the Robert Rodriguez thriller Hypnotic, which releases on May 12 (given that this is probably the first time you’re hearing about it, that’s likely a very bad sign), and the DC epic The Flash, which hits theaters on June 16.

Lopez also has a new film releasing this month — in fact, the premiere was held in Los Angeles on Wednesday night — as her new thriller The Mother, which also stars Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, and Gael García Berna, is hitting Netflix on Friday, May 12.
