In case this is the very first page you have seen on the internet today, let me clue you in to the big news. Taylor Swift was named TIME magazine’s Person of the Year for 2023.

That’s right. A Kansas City Chiefs fan was named Person of the Year.

Travis Kelce’s girlfriend beat out TIME’s other contenders King Charles III, Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Trump prosecutors, the people who went on strike in Hollywood, and, um, Barbie.

Yeah… no wonder they picked Taylor Swift.

As part of the honor of being named Person of the Year, T-Swizzle was afforded a chance to speak in an interview.

Here are some of the best quotes the Queen of Pop dropped on all of our heads.

She was supposed to open for Kenny Chesney when she was 17, but the tour was sponsored by a beer brand and they had to drop her. A few months later Chesney’s promoter gave her a check at her 18th birthday party.

“It was for more money than I’d ever seen in my life,” she said. “I was able to pay my band bonuses. I was able to pay for my tour buses. I was able to fuel my dreams.”

The 33-year-old has lived a lot of life already and knows how fickle the public can be despite how much it loves her right now.

“I’ve been raised up and down the flagpole of public opinion so many times in the last 20 years,” Swift observed. “I’ve been given a tiara, then had it taken away.”

Taylor Swift said she used to tour “like a frat guy,” but she had to quit drinking for the Eras Tour.

“Doing that show with a hangover,” she admitted. “I don’t want to know that world.”

As for the massive success of that tour…

“It’s not lost on me that the two great catalysts for this happening were two horrendous things that happened to me,” Swift revealed. “The first was getting canceled within an inch of my life and sanity. The second was having my life’s work taken away from me by someone who hates me.”

She is referring to the whole “snake” saga between her Kanye West and Kim Kardashian when shes says she was almost canceled.

“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” she said. “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

As for her relationship with Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift says it began far before the world found about it.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” said Swift. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

As for all the complaints of her being shown too much on TV during Chiefs games, she pleads ignorance.

“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she said. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when then camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

Does she care that people are complaining? Not one bit.

“I’m just there to support Travis,” said Swift. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

And just like that a new meme was born
