Many musicians have attempted to capitalize on the devotion of their fans to try to make some money. That includes expensive concert tickets and overpriced merch that’s peddled at those shows, but Beyoncé is thinking outside the box by selling a limited-edition box that will run you close to $1,000.
Beyoncé has done pretty well for herself since initially bursting onto the scene as the lead singer for Destiny’s Child in the 1990s. She didn’t lose any momentum after going solo toward the start of the new millennium, as she became an international icon who ranks among the best-selling musical artists of all time after moving more than 200 million records.
She has also attracted a massive legion of loyal fans collectively known as the “Beyhive,” who have a reputation for being incredibly devoted to their “Queen Bey.” Just how devoted? Well, there aren’t many artists I can think of who could get away with selling a wooden box for over $900.

Milk crates were once the go-to vessel for storing vinyl records, although most people who have amassed a significant collection since the resurgence of that particular medium opt for a slightly more dignified container.
If you’re a Beyoncé fan who’s looking for a new option, you may be interested in what has been dubbed the “Bey Keeper Collector’s Box,” which is currently listed on the singer’s website for $948.01.

It’s hard to imagine the bulk of that cost is reflected in the materials.
The box, positioned as an “essential piece of art for The Hive,” is made of “solid pine wood finished with beeswax oil” and measures 18 inches across, 14.75 inches deep, and 14 inches high. It is lined with “deep green velvet” and boasts a “faux gator-skin carrying strap with gold hardware.”
Only 500 boxes are being produced for a limited-edition run that is slated to ship at the start of November, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see how many people are willing to stomach the price.
