Ranking EVERY Flavor of Bitchin’ Sauce, Worst to Best

Bitchin Sauce, via Facebook

A couple months ago, I was browsing through Target and spotted the Original Bitchin’ Sauce flavor. Immediately, I was intrigued at this healthy dipping sauce for only $5 and went to go pick it up. The ability to switch things up from my usual hummus routine was enough to have me excited. I started eating the sauce with veggies, tortilla chips, then pasta. It was AMAZING on basically everything. Tangy with just the right amount of saltiness. Bitchin’ boasts healthful ingredients (almonds, lemon juice, spices) but it does not lack in taste at all.

What is Bitchin’ Sauce?

Bitchin’ Sauce announced  multiple wins for the Dips & Salsa category as part of the Specialty Food Association’s 2020 Awards, a top honor in the $158 billion industry. Basically, it is the Oscars of the specialty food industry. Bitchin’ Sauce won 7 of the last 9 awards – the award winning flavors were Original, Chipotle, Bombay, Roasted Green Chili & Pepita, and Spinach Artichoke.

So in other words, I’m judging the Oscars with my ranking.

Bitchin’ Sauce just created a new line of Bitchin’ Snacks that launched in conjunction with the 7-Eleven Sips & Snacks program, which includes chips and carrots in a little snack pack with the option of either the Original or Chipotle sauces on the side.

The Best Bitchin’ Sauce Flavors

Recently I got the opportunity to try and review all 13 flavors of Bitchin’ Sauce and I’m here to tell you my power ranking of them. Slight disclaimer, all of them were so fire and it was very difficult to create this comprehensive ranking but here we go:

13. Heat
In the #13 spot, coming in HOT, is the Heat flavor of Bitchin’ Sauce! This sauce is not bad by any means. It’s actually pretty good, the only reason I ranked it in last place is because of how unbelievably spicy it is. If you enjoy spicy food then you will definitely love this sauce but for me, it was wayyyy too spicy. It tastes exactly like the Original flavor but with a big kick that burns a few seconds after you put it in your mouth.

12./ Bombay
On the Bitchin’ Sauce website, they describe this sauce as a “sweet blend of Indian spices” but I’m not sure if I would describe it as that. It’s not horrible, don’t get me wrong, but it’s definitely not my favorite. It’s a blend of sour and savory and I tried to put it on a salad and dip it with carrots but it wasn’t hitting the mark for me. I’m also not the biggest Indian food fan so that could contribute to me not liking it as much as the others.

11. Apple Pie
The company recently launched a line of dessert sauces (Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, and Chocolate) in July called Sweet Sauce, which is now available exclusively in Whole Foods Market nationwide. The Apple Pie Bitchin’ Sauce tastes exactly like a Thanksgiving apple pie.
Apple pie always has an overly sweet taste to me but this dip wasn’t too sweet. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to dip the Apple Pie sauce into but I tried an apple slice then a pretzel – both worked pretty well! If you love Apple Pie and you’re a die hard fan of it then this dip is right up your alley. This sauce is cinnamon-y and really good.

10. Spinach Artichoke
This dip doesn’t taste like traditional Spinach Artichoke dip to me, it tastes a bit sweeter and less salty. Nonetheless, it is delicious! I put this on everything from rice to pita bread. It has nice chunks of artichoke which I personally love. The spinach is not overpowering at all. This dip is made out of all organic ingredients too so if that’s something you are looking for!

9. Original
The OG, the Original, such a staple. REALLY good on a burrito bowl/tacos, pasta and even better on a burger. It is definitely on the more savory side and it doesn’t have any spiciness, just overall a yummy (almost like a smokey cheesy) flavor.

8. Pesto
I don’t know about you but I love pesto. I would call myself a pesto connoisseur. Everytime I see a new pesto in the store, I have to try it. This Bitchin’ Sauce pesto isn’t overpowering on the basil and it is 10/10. You can put this on toast, garlic bread, pasta, salad, chicken, anything! Super versatile.

7. Chipotle
The chipotle sauce is exactly what it says it is. It’s creamy and tastes exactly like chipotle seasoning. It’s tangy goodness is like Hidden Valley chipotle ranch dressing on steroids.

6. Cilantro Chili
WOW, this sauce blew me away. When I posted the picture of all the Bitchin’ Sauce flavors I was sent, everyone kept swiping up telling me that Cilantro Chili was their favorite flavor and it did not disappoint. It tastes exactly like cilantro with a creamy tang and if you put this on some tacos or a quesadilla, it is amazing. This is a new staple in my fridge.

5. Green Onion
This reminds me of a dip from a Superbowl party. So addicting and delicious with chips or pretzel crisps. This dip is even fire on sandwiches, no need for mayo or mustard. The green onion dip is just the right amount of sweet and savory. I can’t rave about this flavor enough.

4. Salted Caramel
WOW this dip is so bomb. If you don’t have a sweet tooth then I’m sorry but this is not for you. Although if you love sweets and you pair this dip with apple slices, it is God tier. It’s not even that salty, it’s more so heavier on the caramel taste. The Salted Caramel Bitchin’ Sauce is divine and the healthiest dessert I’ve had in a while by far.

3. Chocolate
Okay…. Can we just talk about how freaking good this is? It’s like brownie batter and melted chocolate chips had a child. The Chocolate Bitchin’ Sauce is to die for with strawberries – trust me on this. You need to get your hands on this dip.

2. Roasted Green Chili and Pepita
The Roasted Green Chili and Pepita Bitchin’ Sauce is a superior dip. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do because well first off… I had no idea that a pumpkin seed was also called a pepita. Glad that Bitchin’ Sauce could teach me something new, ha. This dip tastes light and nutty with a subtle garlic flavor from the roasted green chili. This is a new fridge staple for me!

1. Buffalo
It was really tough choosing between Roasted Green Chili and Buffalo – who would take the #1 spot? Ultimately, Buffalo won only by a small margin. What sets this dip apart from the rest is its dedication to being a light and nutty sauce while also bringing in a subtle buffalo spiciness that makes your taste buds thank you. This dip is exquisite and it’s not overly spicy at all. It goes well with everything – I tried it on chips, pita bread, a bagel, grilled veggies, salad, burgers, and a sandwich. The Buffalo Bitchin’ Sauce changed my life.

Final Thoughts
Overall, every flavor of Bitchin’ Sauce was insanely good. None of these dips disappointed at all. Every Bitchin’ Sauce is made out of clean, fresh ingredients and it shows. You can taste the quality the second you slap the sauce onto your meal. It kicks up the flavor of any dish you’re making.

While this is a comprehensive ranking, I’m sure that some of you may argue one flavor is better than the other – happy to debate with you over on my Instagram.
