On Tuesday morning, iconic pop-punk band blink-182 announced that founding member Tom DeLonge would be rejoining the band for both a new album and a world tour, which will take place in 2023.

blink-182 has announced that Tom DeLonge has returned to the group, who will be releasing a new album and going on a world tour in 2023

The band also announced that their newest single “Edging” will be released on Friday, October 14.

DeLonge, who has not been a member of blink-182 since 2014, was one of the group’s founding members with bassist Mark Hoppus back in the early 90s. blink-182 originally broke up in 2005 before reuniting again in 2011 for an album titled Neighborhoods and then again disbanded in 2014. While blink-182 has carried on over the last decade with Matt Skiba, who even released a couple of albums with the band, 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine.

After hearing the news that DeLonge, arguably the band’s most famous member (at least prior to Travis Barker marrying Kourtney Kardashian), music fans took to Twitter to celebrate the reunion of the beloved trio:

“I’d like to apologize for the obnoxious human being I’ll become if Tom Delonge is in blink-182 again,” said this Twitter user.

“If Tom DeLonge rejoins blink-182 and they do a 20 year reunion tour for the self-titled album-I apologize in advance for the person I become,” echoed another with a similar sentiment.

“Quitting my job because Tom DeLonge is back in Blink and nothing else matters,” this Twitter user proclaimed.

blink-182’s 2023 world tour will kick off in Tijuana, Mexico on March 11, 2023. Tickets will be going on sale next Monday, October 17. At this time, it is unclear when their new album — which will be the band’s tenth — will release.
