Brian Cox has, once again, made some very public and harsh comments about the acting style of his Succession co-star Jeremy Strong.

After admitting back in 2021 that Strong’s infamously intense acting method worried him, Cox is once again speaking on the method to Strong’s madness and he isn’t mincing words.

During a recent profile interview with Town & Country magazine, Cox — who caveated his statement by saying Strong is a “very good actor” — said that his infamous method is “f***ing annoying.”

“Oh, it’s f***ing annoying. Don’t get me going on it,” Cox said.

“He’s a very good actor. And the rest of the ensemble is all okay with this. But knowing a character and what the character does is only part of the skill set,” he continued.

“He’s still that guy, because he feels if he went somewhere else he’d lose it. But he won’t! Strong is talented. He’s fucking gifted. When you’ve got the gift, celebrate the gift. Go back to your trailer and have a hit of marijuana, you know?”

Cox’s feature interview comes as HBO gears up for the release of Succession season four, which is set to premiere on Sunday, March 26.

In addition to the starring duo of Strong and Cox, season four of the beloved HBO drama features Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, Alexander Skarsgård, Cherry Jones, Hope Davis, Justin Kirk, Stephen Root, J. Smith-Cameron, Peter Friedman, David Rasche, Fisher Stevens, Hiam Abbass, and more.

Here’s the official synopsis for Season 4 of Succession, via HBO:

The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.

Season four of Succession will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, March 26 at 9 p.m. EST. You can check out the teaser trailer for season four of Succession below:
