While Brittany Mahomes would usually make a point of it to be seen with Taylor Swift at Kansas City Chiefs games, that was not the case during Super Bowl LIX. And according to reports, Donald Trump is the reason why.
During Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, Taylor Swift was shown the big screen and aggressively booed for the crowd (Why? That’s for their own broken egos to decide).
According to an alleged source who spoke to The Daily Mail, Mahomes was “instructed” to stay away from Swift and was “forewarned” it might turn into a “PR nightmare” because of what Trump might do. Trump was the first sitting President to attend a Super Bowl, a move that reportedly cost tax payers millions of dollars, per Snopes.
“Brittany kept her distance from Taylor because of Trump attending the game. She was instructed to do so,” an alleged inside source told The Daily Mail. “That could have been a PR nightmare if the two were seated together when Taylor was booed. And everyone was forewarned that Trump would likely reference Taylor in one way or another and he did.”
Trump has been personally attacking Swift or a while now, including after Sunday’s Super Bowl, when he posted on his social media app:
“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump posted. Last year, Trump publicly posted saying that he “hates” Swift.
Beyond the boos, it was a tough night for both Swift and Mahomes as their respective sweethearts, tight end Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, got absolutely dominated by the Philadelphia Eagles defense, with the Chiefs getting blown out by a score of 40-22, ultimately falling short in their quest to become the first NFL team to three-peat in the Super Bowl era.
