Multiple Emmy award winning actor Bryan Cranston showed on the first season of The Studio that he’s willing to embarrass himself for the sake of the episode, as evidenced by the entry that shows him tripping on drugs so hard it basically becomes a Weekend at Bernies scenario. According to the acclaimed actor, Season 2 has an episode that takes an even bigger swing.

In a Variety Actors on Actors interview alongside Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn, Bryan Cranston teased a Season 2 episode in which his character attends the Oscars while on drugs.

Bryan Cranston says an episode of The Studio Season 2 has the potential to “destroy” his career

“I did something in season two that either is going to be the best thing I’ve ever done or destroy my career. It’s unbelievable,” Cranston said.

In The Studio, Cranston plays Griffin Mill, the CEO of Continental Pictures — the profit-obsessed studio chief that Seth Rogen’s character Matt Remick answers to.

The Studio was one of the most acclaimed shows of 2025, earning a slew of awards and widespread praise for its willingness to skewer the entertainment industry from the inside. At the 2025 Emmy Awards,  The Studio had 13 wins total, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor (Seth Rogen), Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series — the most-winning freshman comedy in Emmy history.

Season 2 does not yet have a confirmed release date on Apple TV, although it’s expected to drop sometime this year.

In addition to Cranston and Rogen, The Studio also stars Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Catherine O’Hara, who unfortunately passed away earlier this year.
