Can You Beat The Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Wing Challenge? It Sounds Like An Absolute Scorcher

There was a time in my life when I didn’t think I had the testicular fortitude to tackle a spicy wing challenge, nor did I think I’d ever care about trying to complete one. Those days are gone.

I didn’t discover my love of spicy food until after college when I moved to NYC and started eating Thai dishes like Som Tam, Laab, Pad Ka Prao, and others. Growing up in Sarasota, Florida we didn’t have anything like this. In fact, the Thai restaurants we did have wouldn’t even ask you how spicy you wanted your curry because they just assumed you wanted it medium.

All of those Thai dishes spicy enough to numb your entire face led me to Phaal Curry and from there I started branching out more and realized that I actually love spicy food, peppers, and heat. What I don’t love is jalapeño peppers. That’s it. I think that specific brand of spice was forced on me as a kid in a lot of dishes and I never liked the flavor so I assumed that I didn’t like all spicy food. I was sorely mistaken.

This is all a really long and winding way of explaining that I’m going to attempt the Buffalo Wild Wings’ Blazin’ Wing Challenge at some point in the near future. Scrolling through Instagram, it looks like this is a challenge A LOT of people attempt.

I haven’t been to a B-Dubs in YEARS. I’m a Hooters man. But I’ll make an exception after checking out this clip from Insider that details the challenge.

Frankly, the most annoying part of this challenge seems to be the 6-minute time limit. I like to savor my food a little bit. I’m never in a hurry to get through the food on my plate. Eating 12 wings in 6 minutes is obviously easily doable (without the spice) but it just seems like a pain in the ass to have to rush through something like this.

I say that, but Furious Pete finished the challenge in 31 seconds back in 2013 so I guess it’s not all that crazy.

What do you bros think, could you complete the challenge? The Blazin’ Sauce measures 350,000 Scoville units which puts it just above the Orange Habanero and just below the Red Savina Habanero on the Scoville Unit Chart.

I took down a Ghost Pepper sausage a few months ago and didn’t die. Ghost Peppers are over a million Scoville Units. So I’m fairly certain I could swing this, what about you?
