Folks, welcome to October. That means Oktoberfest… And Oktoberfest means two of our favorite things around here: beer and traditional Bavarian feats of strength.
Our friends at Buffalo Wild Wings just rolled out some brand new wing sauces, including lemon pepper, orange chicken, pizza, and Blazin’ Carolina Reaper. If that’s enough of a reason to swing by your local B-dubs this weekend, here’s another: Chance to win a trip to Munich, Germany to go toast a mug with the best of them.
This Sunday, October 4th, Buffalo Wild Wings is hosting a traditional stein hoisting competition. The traditional Bavarian strength and endurance contest involves participants holding a full, one-liter stein in front of their bodies with a straight arm, parallel to the ground for as long as possible without spilling any of its liquid contents.
If you win you local contest, you’re entered into a champions pool with a chance to win the trip to Munich. Here’s the official details, via B-Dubs:
- STEIN HOISTING COMPETITION: This Sunday (10/4) at 7:30 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. MT / 6 p.m. CT), America’s sports bar is bringing the fun of Oktoberfest to the States by hosting a nationwide Stein Hoisting Competition. The traditional Bavarian strength and endurance contest requires competitors to hold a full, one-liter stein in front of their bodies with a straight arm, parallel to the ground for as long as possible without spilling any liquid (in this case, water). The champion from each participating sports bar across the country will be entered for the chance to win a trip for two to Munich next year – two grand prize winners will be selected. In the spirit of Oktoberfest, they’re pouring out Sam Adams Oktoberfest *and* pairing it with the Everything Pretzel – a delicious hot pretzel topped with Everything seasoning.
- GERMAN FARE: During October, Buffalo Wild Wings is pouring seasonal favorite Sam Adams Oktoberfest and full bodied Weihenstephaner Festbier. Both pair perfectly with the savory Everything Pretzel Knots which are always available but especially delicious at this time of year.
