Of Course A Chick-fil-A Worker Was Spotted Handing Out Sandwiches To Popeyes Employees

It goes without saying that this Popeyes Chicken Sandwich saga has turned into utter madness.

While fast-food chains are constantly rolling out new products on their menu — ill-advised or otherwise — rarely do people even notice, let alone endlessly tweet about the damn thing.

But, for some reason, just because Popeyes decided to put the chicken they’ve always carried between two pieces of bread, everyone has lost their damn mind. And ironically enough, Popeyes likely has their rival to thank, as it was a tweet from Chick-fil-A’s official Twitter account that launched this the discussion around chicken sandwiches into the stratosphere.

In the nine days since this tweet, the hype around the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich has been more real than the company likely anticipated, as they announced on Tuesday that they were completely sold out across the nation.

This chicken sandwich hysteria hasn’t only been beneficial to Popeyes, though, as direct competitors such as Chick-fil-a and Bojangles (albeit extremely unsuccessfully) have hopped aboard the wave to attempt their own hand at viral marketing. Even if that means delivering chicken sandies to the competitor’s employees.

In a viral Facebook post shared earlier this week, a woman who was waiting in line for Popeyes’ sold-out sandwiches saw the manager of a nearby Chick-fil-A not only give sandwiches to the Popeyes staff but offered everyone waiting in line a free meal at his restaurant.

Now THAT is how you run a business, folks. They say the best ability is availability, and that needs to be the message that Chick-fil-A hammers home while Popeyes is desperately restocking their inventory.
