‘Calorie Deficit Made Simple’: Atlanta Man Goes To Chick-Fil-A. Then He Orders A Custom Protein Sandwich—With A Diet Coke

A strength coach placed an order at Chick-fil-A and showed how he enjoys the fast-food restaurant’s menu while staying in a calorie deficit. Viewers of the now-viral video couldn’t believe how he customized his sandwich.

In a video with over 13,000 views, TikToker @builtbybeech opens a sandwich package from Chick-fil-A. But instead of pulling out a sandwich, he just pulls out a chicken patty.

“You know you’re allowed to go to Chick-fil-A and just get a sandwich patty?” he says. “250 calories, 24 grams of protein. Washing it down with a Diet Coke.”

He even snags a zesty buffalo sauce to top the chicken patty for only 25 extra calories. He calls the meal a “calorie deficit made simple.”

Other Low-Calorie Chick-fil-A Hacks

While fast food isn’t usually the best option when trying to lose weight, some customers say there are several low-calorie ways to order off the menu. Members of the r/1200isplenty subreddit shared their favorite options from Chick-fil-A.

“Grilled nuggets and kale crunch salad is the goat!” one exclaimed. Another replied, saying they add the 25-calorie buffalo sauce to the meal to make it even tastier. The same order even went viral on TikTok, with a food reviewer on Allrecipes calling the 510 calorie meal a “million out of 10.”

“Their chicken wrap is only 350 calories, and has a decent amount of protein/fiber. i get it with buffalo sauce instead of the creamy salsa dressing,” a second commenter suggested.

Some suggested you don’t even have to lose the bun to stay within your calorie goal for the day.

“For lunch. original chicken sandwich, no pickles, and an 8 count order of grilled Nuggets. 1 Honey roasted bbq sauce packet 1 buffalo pack. Large diet dr. Pepper,” a Redditor wrote. “It’s like 610 calories total. If you want additional sauce, pickup hot sauce packets.”

Will Viewers Try The Sandwich?

In the comments, viewers debated whether the meal is healthy just because it’s low calorie. Some suggest fast food still comes loaded with unhealthy ingredients no matter how many grams of protein it packs.

That chicken patty has 50+ ingredients. Not healthy,” one remarked.

“Well you got the calories and the protein part right but don’t forget to tell him about all the other chemicals are in that one chicken patty,” a second viewer said.

However, others push back and say that low-calorie fast food options are important for those who are on-the-go while trying to lose weight.

“He didn’t say this is the healthiest thing on the planet. He said if you’re trying to lose calories, but you’re still going to Chick-fil-A do this instead,” a commenter pointed out.
