A North Carolina woman went to buy Chick-fil-A's brand-new s'mores milkshake. She said she received an unexpected warning from an employee.
Ordering food or a beverage from a fast-food chain can sometimes result in regrets. The consequences—due to a strict diet or an upset stomach—can be especially inconvenient. But most consumers don’t expect to be warned about those consequences in advance.
North Carolina content creator Kenzie (@kenzie.hughes_03) went to buy Chick-fil-A’s brand-new s’mores milkshake. She said she received an unexpected warning from an employee.
According to Kenzie, an employee at the location she visited gave her a “dietary warning” about the beverage, which she shared in a video that received more than 1.2 million views.
What Was The Warning?
Kenzie didn’t clarify what exactly Chick-fil-A warned her about during her video. Was it calories? Sugar?
Viewers, however, had a few guesses.
“100g of sugar btw,” one commenter said.
Another added, “As a cfa worker I can confirm they’re 650 calories … I’ve been making them all morning it’s ridiculous.”
But others were more direct.
“What’s the warning,” a commenter asked.
Kenzie responded by posting a meme of a SpongeBob character sitting on the toilet. Generally, high amounts of lactose and dairy can cause diarrhea. Kenzie, however, confirmed exactly what ingredient was causing trouble for customers when another commenter asked the same question.
“The employee just let me know that customers have been complaining that it makes them have to use the bathroom because of the artificial marshmallow,” she said.
Viewers confirmed this, citing their own experiences drinking the beverage and having stomach issues.

The S’mores Milkshake: Nutritional Information
After reading through Kenzie’s comment section, many viewers were worried about the milkshake’s macros and sugar content. More than a few commenters said they couldn’t justify drinking the beverage, which echoed a consensus some Chick-fil-A fans are having online.
For context, the s’mores milkshake has 650 calories, 19 grams of fat, 109 grams of carbs, and 12 grams of protein. The milkshake also has 100 grams of sugar per drink.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that adults should have no more than 10 grams of sugar with each meal. Citing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the CDC also adds that “dairy snacks (e.g., yogurt) should not exceed 2½ grams of added sugar per ⅔ cup equivalent.”
Viewers, too, pointed out that other recent menu additions don’t have ideal macronutrients.
“Ok but the spicy breakfast waffle sandwich has 1220mg of sodium … [it’s] insane,” one viewer said, referring to the new Chicken & Waffles Breakfast Sandwich.
But other commenters said to ignore warnings about the beverage.
“‘The calories’ ‘the sugar,’ like can you all stop,” they said. “A milkshake is NEVER meant to be ‘healthy’ or help you meet your nutrition goals … Having a milkshake or anything similar once in a while will not kill you. It will not give you diabetes, and won’t make the world end.”
Another reiterated that “[They are] not drinking a milkshake for nutrition,” which brought about a greater point. The drink can be enjoyed in moderation. But with customers reporting stomach problems, it’s still up for debate whether some people will go out on a limb to try it.
