A Texas-based woman shared what she scores in her $4 Chipotle meal, a trick she has used since she was in college.
The internet is no stranger to people employing creative methods to get more bang for their buck at places like Chipotle.
For instance, one man witnessed a customer outsmart the chain by getting what was essentially a steak bowl but being charged for a $5 taco. Now, one woman is spilling the beans on how she gets a meal there for only $4 online.
“OK, I’m showing you guys my $4 Chipotle order,” Texas TikToker Maddie (@maddierklein) says.
How Can You Get Chipotle For $4?
“You get a chicken taco with a side of black beans, a side of white rice, and a side tortilla,” she says, reading off her online order details. “I also got cheese, and, of course, a side of vinaigrette.” Then, she begins unbagging her order, revealing a large side tortilla and places it on a plate. “So, you dump everything from the small taco into the big taco,” she instructs, unwrapping a small taco wrap and dumping the contents inside. Next, the content creator empties the sides out of the containers and tops it off with vinaigrette. Lastly, she unveils her the final product: a loaded, open burrito.
“Then you have your literal, massive $4 taco,” she concludes.
“My $4 Chipotle order that I’ve gotten since college,” she writes in the caption.
In the comments section, she further guides viewers on how to order this: “Ok so ask for the vinaigrette at the counter & then on the app, click ONE chicken taco, scroll down, find the toppings you want, swipe left, click SIDE, then click add to cart. I get the taco as it comes!!!”
‘Wait, This Is Genius’
Maddie’s hack amassed over 976,000 views and earned praised from fellow viewers.
“Doing the Lord’s work. Ty sister,” one viewer thanked.
“Ok, wait this is genius. I’ll try it,” another stated.
Moreover, others raced to their apps where they successfully ordered this meal themselves.
“Genius. Just ordered this with a steak taco. Didn’t even need the extra tortilla since I normally eat it as a bowl anyway. Thank you,” one commenter shared.
“I just tried this today exactly like you ordered. I only spent $4.50. I was very satisfied with this. Thank you,” a second revealed.
Has Chipotle Cracked Down On Hacks?
But a third was skeptical, remarking, “Except when they catch on to the TikTok hack and somehow change the policy and say, ‘You can’t get those sides or pay for extra’ or some other excuse.”
Maddie’s hack is essentially the “$3 burrito hack” that went massively viral on TikTok back in 2022. Consumers exploited the system, customizing their burritos by ordering a taco and loading it up with different sides free of charge, according to Food & Wine.
As a result, Chipotle caught wind and limited the number of sides you can put on the taco. But because Maddie only gets three items on her taco (chicken doesn’t count toward the five items) and then two additional sides in cups, she’s in the clear.
