The Chirayu Rana-Lorna Hajdini saga took yet another drastic turn just hours before a scheduled court appearance earlier this week, with the latest development spelling trouble for Rana. According to reports, his lawyer has bailed on him.

According to the New York Post, Chirayu Rana’s attorney dropped him as a client just hours before a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday in his lawsuit against JPMorgan executive Lorna Hajdini.

Rana has accused Hajdini of drugging him and forcing him into a months-long “sex slave” arrangement, while Hajdini has countersued, claiming defamation. JP Morgan has stood by Hajdini the entire time, saying an internal investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing.

Chirayu Rana’s lawyer Daniel Kaiser asked to be discharged from the case just hours before a scheduled court apperance

Daniel Kaiser, who has previously repped Jeffrey Epstein accusers, filed a consent to be “discharged” as attorney for Rana just hours before they were due to appear in court on Tuesday.

The timing of Kaiser’s departure left Rana with no legal representation heading into the hearing, forcing him to proceed “pro se” — meaning he would have to represent himself in court.

“The surprise filing comes ahead of an afternoon courtroom appearance where he was supposed to argue for his client’s right to be officially known only as ‘John Doe’ in the court docket. Since the case was first filed, Kaiser has repeatedly defended Rana’s claims, even once stating that The Post would be ’embarrassed’ by its reporting on the scandal once all of the evidence is revealed,” reports The New York Post.

“A JP Morgan spokesperson declined to comment on Rana’s latest legal headache, but reiterated that the firm has no intention of settling the matter, noting that the bank has maintained from the outset that the allegations are without merit.”

While Kaiser bailing on Rana does not imply that he is guilty, it is also a highly irregular move that makes life increasingly difficult for Rana.

Rana’s original lawsuit against Hajdini went massively viral and turned into a meme after its discovery, particularly due to Rana’s allegation that Hajdini said: “I bet your little Asian, fish head, wife doesn’t have these cannons.”
