I hope you’ve had your morning coffee before you attempt to solve this coffee puzzle because it’s a lot trickier than you might think. I thought I’d had this puzzle completely figured out before realizing I was way off. I don’t want to guide your hand here so I’ll just tell you the purpose of the puzzle and then let you figure it out for yourself before I explain the answer down below.

The objective here is to figure out what order the coffee cups will be filled in: 4, 9, 5, 7. So, your answer should look something like 4,9,5,7 or 7,5,9,4, etc. Are you ready? Answers below (you can access the tweet below direct here):

Did you guess 4? You’re wrong. Go look again.

Did you guess 7? Still wrong. Better take another look.

The order is 5, 7, 4. There are blocks hidden throughout the puzzle to stop the flow of coffee. Once the 9/4 chamber was filled up it would send the coffee over to 5 (5 is the answer). After that, all the of the chambers would fill and the coffee would run over the top of the maze and fill up 7 and 4. 7 first because the cup is slightly higher than 4. Unfortunately, 9 would never be filled because there’s no way for the coffee to get there.

I’m hoping that you all solved this much quicker than I did. This was the first thing I looked at this morning and I wasn’t really up to speed yet. If you want to see the plight of others failing you can head on over to Twitter Moments.
