‘Ben And Jerry Would Never’: New York Man Stops By Cold Stone Creamery. Then He Sees Something That Stops Him In His Tracks

A New York man walked into Cold Stone Creamery to pick up a carton of ice cream. However, he quickly backtracked when he noticed how much the ice cream chain charges now.

In a video with over 522,000 views, TikToker Biggie Shorty (@biggieshorty504) walks up to the Cold Stone Creamery counter to check out the flavor options. He zooms in on the three ice cream carton size options.

“I’m at Ms. Cold Stone. And I will die on the cross b—- and be buried alive before I ever pay this much for a little bucket of ice cream,” he says.

He shows the prices for each: $16.99 for a pint, $21.99 for a quart, and $27.99 for a triple pint.

“Ms. Cold Stone is out of her mind,” he jokes. The caption continues, “Is this inflation?”

Is Cold Stone More Expensive Now?

One Cold Stone worker posted the chain’s old sign advertising the prices of cartons and compared it to the price increase in March 2025 on the r/mildlyinteresting subreddit.

The original sign, which was used in 2011, listed the prices as $6.99 for a pint, $8.99 for a quart, and $12.99 for a triple pint. In March, the prices increased to $9.99 for a pint, $12.99 for a quart, and $15.99 for a triple pint.

However, the updated sign is still less than half of what the TikToker observed at the Cold Stone location he entered.

Cold Stone customers have also criticized other price increases, including tacking on additional fees for those who ask for one of its “signature flavors.” Opting for a non-standard flavor can tack on several bucks to an order, according to one Redditor.

Many Cold Stone locations are owned by franchisees, which gives them some flexibility in pricing the ice cream. So, each store may sell the cartons at a different price point.

Would Viewers Pay For The Pricey Ice Cream?

In the comments, viewers said they also refuse to pay that much for a carton of ice cream, regardless of the brand.

“Bc the 16.99 pint is a $4 haagen-dazs,” a commenter pointed out.

“NO ice cream is worth $27.99 per half-gallon. No brand. No flavor. That’s ludicrous,” another remarked.

Ben and Jerry would never,” a third commented.

Many suggested that the ice cream chain’s pricing could put it out of business.

“Looks like Ms.Coldstone is trying to go cold out of business,” one joked.

A second said, “And then they will clutch their pearls and wonder why they are bankrupt.”

“That’s wild… they’ll be closing stores soon with those prices,” another suggested.
