Colorado ‘Bigfoot’ Video Leads To Internet Detective Uncovering Incredibly Plausible Explanation

There are plenty of people who genuinely believe the world is home to at least one large hairy humanoid known as “Bigfoot” or “Sasquatch,” and we were treated to our latest in a long line of sightings courtesy of a video that surfaced out of Colorado earlier this week. However, anyone who was hoping that was definitive evidence of the creature’s existence will probably be disappointed by the very plausible explanation that’s been floated.

The legend of Bigfoot can be traced back at least 500 years, as a figure that checks all of the requisite physical boxes appears on Native American rock carvings on a sacred site in California. Supposed sightings have been especially prevalent in the Pacific Northwest—including the famous footage that was captured near the Oregon border in 1967.

Modern technology has obviously made it easier to document alleged encounters with Bigfoot in the wild, and we’ve been treated to plenty of videos in recent years captured by people who’ve claimed they managed to catch Sasquatch on camera.

The most recent one came courtesy of some tourists aboard a scenic train ride that took them between the Colorado mountain towns of Silverton and Durango on October 8th. They were hoping to see some elk in the Rocky Mountains (technically the San Juan Mountains) but got an unexpected surprise when they spotted a figure that sure looked like Bigfoot making its way up a hill.

There were plenty of people who wanted to believe they’d gotten a glimpse at a real, authentic Sasquatch, but it also seemed like there was a very good chance it was simply a well-executed hoax.

However, one internet detective managed to stumble upon what seems like the most likely explanation, as they noted the sighting in question was filmed in the vicinity of Sasquatch Expedition Campers, a company in Littleton that sells “rugged 4×4 off-road campers.”

The company unsurprisingly has a Bigfoot costume in its possession that looks a lot like the creature in the video, and its headquarters are located a short walk away from where the clip was filmed.

For what it’s worth, the brand caught wind of this theory and denied it had any involvement, although it seems pretty likely someone there was, in fact, the culprit.
