Tis the season… for alien conspiracy theories.

Actually, that’s more of a year-round endeavor, but since tis the Christmas season so let’s go ahead and combine the two, shall we?

Good, because there are some folks out there that are way ahead of us.

A famous painting, “Madonna and Child,” that depicts Mary with the infant Jesus, Saint John the Baptist, and the Patron Saint of Florence seems like appropriate art to appreciate this time of year.

Found in the Hall of Hercules on the second floor of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy, the painting, which is believed to date date back to the 16th century, has caused quite a stir in the UFO community over the years.

The painting’s artist is currently unknown, which is too bad, because numerous people believe that it not only depicts the nativity scene with baby Jesus, it also depicts a UFO in the sky above.

The Sun recently reported…

More mystery is added by what some people think is a UFO shape floating in the sky in the painting’s upper right corner.

Conspiracy theorists think the painting is evidence of an ancient UFO sighting and have dubbed it “Madonna of the UFO”.

According to the website Florence Inferno, some art historians think the spikey saucer shape is supposed to be an angel.

This isn’t the first time ufologists have pointed out potential ‘aliens’ in an ancient painting.

Another popular example is a wall mural from 1350 by an unknown artist.

It’s called the Crucifixion of Christ 1350 and two odd-looking objects with ‘pilots’ can be seen in the sky on both sides of Jesus.

There are many explanations for what these symbols represent but some people like to believe they are spaceships.

The website Florence Inferno wrote in 2014, “While the baby Jesus is reaching his hand toward his mother, St. John is attempting to support him. Behind the head of the Madonna, an ellipsoidal object can be seen in the sky, one that is very similar to modern depictions of UFOs. There is also a man painted in the background, a shepherd, with his hand on his forehead and his head turned toward the sky. Next to him is a dog that is also looking in the direction of the flying object.”

The Sun also points out that UFOs have been spotted in another ancient paintings such as a mural from 1350 titled “Crucifixion of Christ.”

In 2016, the Mirror reported on another UFO which appears in a medieval wall painting hanging in a Transylvanian church.

Of course, that particular mystery has already been solved.

Yep. That tracks.
