Remember when you got your license and would be stoked if you were given a car, any car, even a beaten up old jalopy? A 22-year-old not only didn’t appreciate his dad giving him a brand new BMW but he also tanked into the river because he wanted a new Jaguar.
A 22-year-old man named Akash from Yamunanagar, Haryana in northern India went viral this week for all of the wrong reason. Akash, which apparently means “entitled brat” in Sanskrit, was gifted a brand new 3-series BMW for his generous dad for his 22nd birthday. Instead of saying “thank you,” the son dumped the brand new luxury automobile into the river.
The son said the BMW was “too small” for him and his friends and he really wanted a Jaguar. Akash pushed the BMW into the river on August 10 and authorities had to use a crane to fish out the submerged car.
“The youth was arrogant and kept insisting that he be given a Jaguar (we’re guessing an XF) as a BMW is a little small for him and his friends inside,” local authorities said. “We would do a preliminary investigation but this seems to be a personal matter. We will proceed according to the law.”
“Sources said that after pushing the car into the canal, Akash made a video and forwarded it to his parents,” the local newspaper reported. Wow, just wow.
“I wanted to give my son a birthday present. We could only afford to give him a BMW, while he kept insisting that he be given a Jaguar. He said the vehicle was too small but we thought he will be okay. We never imagined he would do anything like this.”
Now Akash has no car, congratulations, you played yourself.
Why this father gave his son a car, to begin with, is bewildering. The dad needs to cut his son off and make him get a job to pay for his own car. Then the son will only be able to afford a 1998 Saturn SW1. But there’s a chance the manbaby might drive that car off a cliff.
