Dave Grohl has the reputation of being a good guy and he continued to expand his good name at a show last week. Before a Foo Fighters concert in Washington D.C. last Thursday, Grohl gave his own shoe to a fan on crutches. Grohl was happy to help the girl since she too had a leg injury much like the one that sidelined the Foo Fighters frontman back in 2015 after he fell offstage during a concert Sweden and broke his leg.

A Foo Fighters fan named Sabryn was able to meet Grohl backstage before the show. Sabryn was using crutches and that’s when Grohl’s orthopedic doctor (who apparently tours all over the world with the Foo Fighters) told her that she needs to stop wearing a brace and instead wear a shoe in order to fully recover from her injury. That’s when Grohl stepped up and offered Sabryn his shoe.

“Dave brought him [the doctor] out once he saw that I was on crutches, and that’s when his doctor mentioned that I was supposed to wear a shoe with my brace,” Sabryn told Alt Press. “I told him that my shoes didn’t fit over it because it’s pretty big and my shoes are kinda small. So Dave said, ‘You need one of my big hightops!’ and I laughed it off.” Grohl ran into his dressing room and gave Sabryn one of his hightop sneakers.

“I wore it for the rest of the night after Dave told me to put it on,” Sabryn said. “It’s definitely one of the coolest things to ever happen, and probably the funniest.” The shoe now sits as a display piece in her house.

Good guy Dave Grohl.
