Nine months ago, David Harbour told a stranger that he would officiate her wedding. This weekend the Stranger Things star made good on his promise.

In January, a Stranger Things fan asked what it would take to get Jim Hopper to officiate her wedding.

Harbour said that if the woman got 125,000 retweets on her Twitter request that he would indeed officiate her wedding.

Less than 24 hours later, @ErickaElizabth had surpassed the goal of 125K because the internet makes dreams come true.

Harbour made some stipulations about his appearance, including reading “an esteemed love letter” of his choice and getting the first slice of wedding cake even before the bride and groom.

On Saturday, Harbour was in attendance to officiate the wedding dressed as the Chief of Police of Hawkins, Indiana.

“Hey internet. I know it’s been awhile. I retreated. Needed some space. You probably get it. But I’ve been thinking about ya in the interim. And all your retweets. And so me and some fun folks in Springfield, Illinois, made good on our promise we made all those months ago,” Harbour tweeted.

Let’s hope that Jim Hopper stayed at the wedding long enough to dance.

Season 3 of Stranger Things has been delayed and won’t be available for your binging pleasure until the summer of 2019.

“It’s a handcrafted show,” Netflix programming executive Cindy Holland said in July. “The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy, they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than last year. I think it’s going to be a fantastic season. It will be worth the wait.” So this wedding photo is as close as we’ll get to seeing Chief Hopper for the immediate future.
