A well-known comic book movie scooper on Twitter has revealed what he says is the plot for Deadpool 3, which was forced to halt production earlier this summer as a result of the writers’ and actors’ strikes.
According to @TheComixKid, Deadpool 3 will be what kicks off the “Secret Wars” arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will be the subtitle of the 2027 Avengers film.
The rumor says, due to collapsing realities, the Time Variance Authority is tasked with picking up heroes from these dying worlds and then taking them to a new universe, which is referred to as “New Earth/Battleworld” in the iconic comic book run.
The TVA, led by Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius — who will next be seen in season two of Loki later this year — will then extract Wolverine from the Fox universe and bring him to another universe where he will find an imprisoned Deadpool, thus kicking off their journey together to “save Wolverine’s dying universe and friends.”

The scooper also says that Deadpool was imprisoned by the TVA for using Cable’s (who was played by Josh Brolin in Deadpool 2) technology to manipulate time. Furthermore, the villain of the film, played by Emma Corrin, will apparently be Cassandra Nova and “other evil variants.”
It’s also noted that other established MCU characters other than those associated with the TVA could appear in the film.
While Deadpool 3 — which will be the first R-rated movie in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — is currently scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on May 3, the ongoing strikes in Hollywood have undoubtedly put that release date in jeopardy.
In addition to Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, the film is set to star Owen Wilson, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Jennifer Garner, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapičić, Rob Delany, Matthew Macfadyen, and even a rumored cameo from Ben Affleck as Daredevil.
