A Denny's customer has gone viral after being sorely disappointed by their take-out dessert from the chain.

There’s nothing better than a warm dessert after a hearty meal. But one Denny’s customer was left feeling disappointed after her dessert, the apple pie crisp, failed to meet expectations.

TikTokers have taken to the app to talk about restaurant dessert tricks and bad desserts from places like the Cheesecake Factory before. And in this latest scathing review, TikToker Ronni amassed 116,700 views.

“So I ordered the apple pie crisp from Denny’s,” she begins. “I was like, ‘Oooh this looks good, and it comes with ice cream.'”

She then pointed to a picture of the apple pie crisp she added on-screen, saying, “This is what it looked like right.”

“Lemme show y’all what I got,” she says.

She then switches cameras to show her takeout order and exclaims, “WHAT IS THAT?”

It consisted of a watery clump of pie with soggy apple pieces that only takes up around half of the container. There’s also no ice cream.

Later, Ronni says that she took it back and told a Denny’s employee this order was “missing the crisp” as she asks, “Where my crisp at?”

In response, the employee says that this is just how it comes pre-packaged.

But Ronni doesn’t buy this, telling viewers that it sounds more like she doesn’t want to remake it.

“I go on TikTok. That’s exactly what it looks like,” she adds.

The creator ends the video by addressing Denny’s directly, saying, “Denny’s just p—– me off today.”

‘False Advertisement’

Commenters reacted with shock and horror.

“That’s false advertisement,” one commenter said.

“Looks like throw up,” a second wrote.

While a third said, “What actually is that… there’s no crisp, no ice cream, nothing… WHAT? If I got served that I’d call health services immediately that looks like a loogie.”

“They don’t care,” a fourth chimed in. “These restaurants don’t if you not eating inside.”

And a fifth remarked that it “looks pre-chewed.”

As well as this, a former Denny’s worker said that the server’s statement wasn’t strictly true.

“Worked at Denny’s and no she’s deadass lying,” they claimed. “They cook in the oven and you cut out portions of the pie for each order you get.”

How Long Has This Been A Problem?

Not only has this complaint been raised online before, it also happened a whopping eight years ago. This suggests that the quality of Denny’s desserts might be more of a long-term problem than one might realize.

In a post on the r/ExpectationsVsReality subreddit, one Redditor put their apple pie crisp side by side with an image of the dessert from the Denny’s menu.

Like the TikToker’s Apple Pie Crisp, there were chunks of apple sitting in a seriously watery pie. With no crisp in sight, the only difference between the two desserts is that this one, at least, had ice cream.

Redditors were disgusted by the concoction.

“It looks like it’s already made a trip through someones gastrointestinal system,” one wrote.
“Your first mistake was going to Dennys,” a second quipped, while a third classed the dish as an “abomination.”
“So they just didn’t put any crumble or sauce, what a shame that could have been so good,” a fourth pointed out.
And a fifth said, “The one in the back looks way better. But yeah no one deserves this lol.”
