DAZN reporter Diletta Leotta was on the sidelines of Napoli-Juventus over the weekend, giving the 31-year-old front-row seats to the clash between the two iconic Italian clubs, which ended in a 1-0 victory of Napoli, the champions-elect of Serie A.
In addition to the below photo, Leotta also posted a photo of herself covering the match on her Instagram account, which currently has over 8.7 million followers.
Napoli’s win over third-place Juventus — which featured an epic 93rd-minute match-winning goal — was a massive step towards winning their first Serie A title since the legendary Diego Maradona led them to Scudetto glory in 1987 and 1990. Now 17 points clear of second-place Lazio, Napoli can officially clinch the title next weekend.
Their win over Juventus also came just days after the team was knocked out of the Champions League by fellow Italian club AC Milan, who won the Serie A title last season.
When Napoli does clinch the Serie A title, they’ll be the third different club to win the title in the last three seasons, as AC Milan won the Scudetto in 2022, which was preceded by Inter Milan taking home the title in 2021. That’s particularly notable considering how long the league was dominated by Juventus, who won the Serie A title for nine straight seasons from 2011 to 2020.
2023 isn’t only a big year for Serie A — in addition to Napoli winning the league title, either Inter Milan or AC Milan will be playing in this year’s Champions League Final — but it’s a big year for Leotta, as well, as she and boyfriend Loris Karius (a goalkeeper for Newcastle United in the Premier League) announced back in March that they are expecting their first child together.
