Scottish DJ Calvin Harris on front of a world record sized crowd
Calvin Harris, one of the most successful DJs in history, is now an official Guinness World Record holder. The 42-year-old Scottish DJ set a world record for the largest crowd ever recorded at a DJ performance and it all took place earlier this year when Calvin Harris performed a beach set in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Calvin Harris shared a photograph of his Guinness World Record certificate which recognizes the crowd size at 1,600,000 for his set in Sao Paolo back in February of this year. And while photographs from the event are impressive, videos and drone footage of the crowd is what really puts it all into perspective.

For context, the entire population of the state of Wyoming is 588,753. The population of Vermont is 644,663.
That means Calvin Harris drew a larger crowd for his DJ set in Sao Paolo than the populations of Vermont and Wyoming combined, and then some. Truly an incredible achievement to get that many people together in one place for an event.
Harris recently uploaded this video to YouTube Shorts which was filmed from a drone flying over the crowd. The sheer size of this mass of people in attendance is hard to comprehend even with the overhead footage:
In a second video, Calvin Harris captioned it ‘Brazil knows the words’ as if most of the people on Planet Earth don’t know the words to this song. With 1.6 million people singing along and dancing in unison I’m amazed there was not seismic activity recorded.
Am I crazy or does the world need more of this? It is hard to live in a divisive society when you are surrounded by 1.59999 million of your closest friends.
The man has three videos on his YouTube channel with over 1 billion streams. ‘This Is What You Came For’ with Rihanna has nearly 3 billion streams. Those are absolutely bonkers numbers. He is truly 1 of 1.
