Popular TikToker Dr. Anthony Youn is known as America’s Holistic Plastic Surgeon, at least according to his profile on YouTube. Dr. Youn has also written several best-selling books and hosts a podcast, The Holistic Plastic Surgery Show. And he very highly recommends that no one ever sleep naked in bed.
While many people sleep in pajamas or a t-shirt and some lightweight shorts, numerous others prefer to feel the night air and the cool sheets on their entire body and sleep in the nude. These are the people he is talking to, and they really need to listen because… ewwwww.
“The average person passes gas 15 to 25 times a day, and this can happen while you’re sleeping,” says the good doctor. “And a scientific study proved that every time you pass gas, you are spraying a tiny amount of fecal matter.
“This is true, even if it’s not a real shart. And that same study showed that your tighty whities will catch all of these particles. So for the sake of your bed partner, please sleep with your underwear on.”
Amazingly, not everyone was down with the doc’s suggestion of wearing some pants to bed.
“My husband and I will just keep air sh-tting on each other I guess,” replied one viewer, who ended up getting 153 responses to her comment.
“Listen, I’ve farted happily into my bedsheets for 39 years,” responded another. “You ain’t gonna change me.”
“15-25 times a day?” asked another viewer. “At least I overachieve in one area.”
“I’ll just throw out my mattress now,” one viewer commented.
Another viewer stated what many others (including myself) were thinking after watching Dr. Youn’s TikTok video about sleeping naked in bed.
“Why did this read to me as a twisted metaphor about why you should wear a mask?” she wondered.
