A Domino's customer reveals how he was denied extra Alfredo sauce when he ordered Parmesan bread bites. So he walked away.

Extra sauce has the ability to take a meal to the next level. On the flip side, not having enough—as trivial as it may seem—has the power to ruin it.

In a TikTok with over 209,400 views, content creator @__ohlk reveals how Domino’s denied him extra sauce.

“I think with how expensive things are now, we need to be more willing to walk away when you’re not satisfied,” he begins.

The man typically orders pasta from Domino’s with a side of the Parmesan bread bites. With every order, he’ll get extra Alfredo sauce.

“I am always able to buy an extra side of Alfredo sauce. They usually just charge me like two sauce cups,” he shares.

However, this time, the Domino’s staff did something unexpected: They denied the man extra Alfredo sauce, even when he shared he was fine with paying extra.

“’No sorry. We’re not allowed. That’s the only thing we’re not allowed to distribute,’” he recalls the worker saying.

“’OK, I don’t want my order then,’” he says he told them.

Should You Walk Away When You Aren’t Happy With The Service?

The workers were in disbelief, he says.

“They looked at me like I was crazy,” he tells the audience.

When push comes to shove, the man knew he wouldn’t be happy with the order with the extra sauce, so he figured it was just best to cancel altogether.

“I haven’t paid for it yet. There’s no reason for me to spend my money on it,” he elaborates.

From time to time, the customer believes more people need to walk away when the service doesn’t meet expectations.

“At the end of the day, it doesn’t cost the employees anything. It’s just Domino’s. It’s just costing Domino’s money. They should want their customers to be happy,” he concludes.

Consumers Are Fed Up

Viewers in the comment section shared stories of times confronting fast food services.

“Got three Subway 12” inch subs with a (buy 2 get 1 free) coupon in the mail. Got to the register after getting them all made and the lady says they don’t accept that coupon and proceeds to give me my total. I just said, ‘Oh okay, have a nice day,’ as I walked away,” one Tiktok commenter wrote.

“My husband and I’s $15 Taco Bell order now costs closer to $30. When it’s not correct I march my a- back inside every time. We aren’t playing when the tacos are $2.50 instead of $0.99,” another added.

“I gave a dude a $10 bill for my item that was $9.44. He took it and told me to have a nice day. I had to verbally ask for my change back. He gave it back. Imagine how many people they do this to,” a third chimed in.

“I even return groceries idc,” a fourth said.

“Dude I’m straight up a Karen now. I use to never bother writing reviews or asking for refunds. I sure do now,” a fifth added.

Why Are Food Establishments So Stingy With Sauce?

In recent years, businesses have become stingy with giving out extra sauce for free. Mashed reports that businesses will charge extra for sauce to reduce wastefulness, limit sauce abuse, and increase profits. Unfortunately, people took advantage of the free extra sauce and ruined it for everyone by requesting too many packets.

Typically, specialty sauces are the ones that cost extra. For example, at McDonald’s, ketchup and mustard are free, Delish shares. However, it has a different policy when it comes to specialty sauces that go with items like nuggets.

According to Domino’s, each store can charge extra for sauces, crust types, or toppings. Domino’s operates out of a franchise business model and currently has over 22,000 locations in 90 markets. With this, whether to charge for sauce is up to the discretion of individual locations. Reddit users have complained about this discrepancy.
