Actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore had to be quickly whisked off stage during a recent event after a stalker rushed towards her.

During Barrymore’s interview with former The Sex Lives of College Girls star Renee Rapp at the 92nd Street Y in New York City on Monday, an unknown man that’s been described as the stalker rushed the stage, apparently saying something along the lines of: “You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York.”

Before the man could make his way any closer to Barrymore, security stepped in and removed him from the venue. While the video making the rounds on social media claims have identified the person, that detail has not yet been confirmed by any official sources.

Despite the interruption, both Barrymore and Rapp returned to the stage moments later to finish their discussion.

“They were like, ‘Hey, do you need anything? Just a sec?’ She was like ‘Oh no, I’ve got it, I’m good,’” Rapp said to the crowd.

Barrymore then praises Rapp’s awareness and responsiveness, comparing her to Kevin Costner in the 1992 film Bodyguard:

“I have a new definition of your sexiness,” Barrymore said. “It’s that level of protectiveness. That went full Bodyguard. You are my Kevin Costner!”
