Eiza Gonzalez Roasted For Saying She’s Been Denied Acting Roles Because She’s ‘Too Hot’

Is it possible to be “too hot” in Hollywood? Because model turned actress Eiza Gonzalez claims that she has lost out on acting roles for that very reason.

No, really.

In an interview with InStyle published this week, Eiza Gonzalez, who the article claims was “ripped apart by the Mexican press for not being pretty enough” as a teenager, claims being called “sexy” is not a compliment.

“I just think it’s an overly sexualized idea of a Latin woman,” said Gonzalez. “It’s so disappointing and it’s so pathetic.”

Eiza Gonzalez also claims that being labeled sexy “has been single-handedly the biggest challenge of my career.”

“None of my white friends who were in the industry were getting that. It was just me,” she added.

“I remember being [told for] so many projects, ‘She’s too pretty for the role. She’s too hot for the role,'” Gonzalez claimed. “Then I’d just be like, ‘What is Margot Robbie? She’s the hottest, most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life!'”

She continued, “I had an identity crisis for a very long time. I was like, Do I shave my head? Do I make myself less attractive? Do I make myself more attractive? Do I not dress super-hot or do I dress super-hot or do I cover myself all the time?”

Needless to say, Eiza Gonzalez’s complaints about being held back because she’s “too hot” did not exactly endear her to many folks on social media.

“It would be interesting if she revealed which role she didn’t get because she was ‘too pretty’ to know who got the jobs – if they may be prettier than her or just better at a little thing like ACTING!” someone else wrote on X. “Two words for her: Emma + Stone.”

“Or, here [sic] me out, maybe she missed out because she can’t act her way out of a paper sack,” read another comment.
