A video of a 98-year-old World War II veteran sending Elon Musk a message as he crushes a Tesla with a tank has gone viral. The video shows the 98-year-old British veteran of the second world war, Ken Turner, sit in the Sherman tank which also dates back to WWII.
The elderly veteran goes on to say that he is “old enough to have seen the fascism the first time around, now it’s coming back.” He then singles out “Elon Musk, the richest man in the world” for using his unmatched personal wealth to influence elections in Europe.
The man says that Elon Musk’s “money comes from Tesla cars” which is, partially true. Much of Elon Musk’s money comes from holding Tesla stock. And the perceived value of Tesla is often called into question, like in this Yahoo! Finance article or the tens of thousands of other articles on Google. With that said, he’s mostly correct in stating that Elon Musk’s wealth comes from Tesla cars and that’s why he takes the WWE Sherman tank and drives it over a Tesla.
Whether or not I or you think Elon Musk is supporting fascism or displays fascist tendencies is irrelevant here. You will never catch me talking politics on this website and today’s not any different. I’m just here to watch an elderly WWII veteran, a 98-year-old man, drive a Sherman tank over a Tesla Model 3.
The makers of the video are Led By Donkey. And according to Newsweek, this isn’t the first time they have gone after the world’s richest man, Elon Musk. They previously projected Elon Musk’s ‘salute’ onto the front of a Tesla factory in Berlin with the message ‘Heil Tesla.’
While Elon Musk became one of the most prominent figures in US politics over the last election cycle, including leading DOGE for President Trump, Europe seems to be very opposed to allowing Elon to involve himself in elections in the ways he has here in the United States. Moving forward, however, Elon is expected to phase himself out of DOGE and resume a hands-on role at Tesla beginning early next month. It remains to be seen if that will happen, but that is the reported plan.
