Dakota and Elle Fanning were at the Emmy Awards on Monday night and were asked about a viral photo of the pair while walking the red carpet. The photo is a viral snap of the pair that sees Dakota sporting a befuddled look as her sister Elle throws it back in her face.
While on the red carpet heading into the Emmy Awards on Monday night, Dakota and Elle Fanning were asked about a viral picture of the pair that shows Dakota having a hilarious reaction to Elle twerking in her grill. Elle shared the photo on her Instagram account back in 2023, and it’s remained present in the internet’s mind in the years since (for obvious reasons).
When presented with a blown-up version of the photo, the actress sisters immediately broke out into loud laughter as they examined the picture before Dakota, the elder of the pair, explained that she doesn’t “get hungover in Miami.”

Both sisters were nominated at the 78th Emmy Awards — Elle for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and Dakota for Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for All Her Fault, her second Emmy nomination following her Ripley nod in 2025.
Their production company, Lewellen Pictures, also had Margo’s Got Money Troubles nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series.
