Continuing his penchant for sticking his nose in the business of others, a new report has revealed that Elon Musk got involved with Amber Heard’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom drama.

According to a new report from Variety, — during and following Amber Heard’s defamation trial against Johnny Depp, in which there was tons of speculation about her future in the role of Mera in the DCEU — a “litigator” for Musk reached out to Warner Bros. to threaten that they would “burn the house down” if Heard was fired from the Aquaman sequel.

Ultimately, the studio never pulled the trigger on firing Heard because her former boyfriend, Elon Musk, had one of his litigators send a “scorched-earth letter to Warner Bros. threatening to burn the house down” if the actress wasn’t brought back for a sequel, says a source familiar with the behind-the-scenes battle. Variety says that Musk — — who dated Heard for just a few months after 2017 after reportedly pursuing her for multiple years — did not respond to a request for comment.

A sequel to 2018’s billion-dollar grossing AquamanAquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been through a nightmarish production process as it was overseen by three different Warner Bros. regimes.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in theaters in the United States on Wednesday, December 20. In addition to Jason Momoa as the titular Aquaman and Heard as Mera, the film also stars Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Pilou Asbæk, and more.

You can check out the official trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which will be the final film in the DCEU before it’s replaced by James Gunn’s newly-formed DCU, below (while Momoa isn’t making the jump to the DCU as Aquaman, reports have indicated he’s in talks to play Lobo).
