Emilia Clarke Bluntly Defends Nudity And Sex Scenes In ‘Game Of Thrones’

Emilia Clarke is not here for anyone’s criticism of the nudity and sex scenes featured on Game of Thrones. The actress that plays Daenerys Targaryen doesn’t understand why Game of Thrones gets criticized for risque content and wants you to know that she’s all for it since “it’s a part of life.” In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she argued that the fantasy TV show’s nudity should not be an issue.

“I’m starting to get really annoyed about this stuff now because people say, ‘Oh, yeah, all the porn sites went down when Game of Thrones came back on.’ I’m like, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale?’ I fucking love that show, and I cried when it ended because I couldn’t handle not seeing it,” Clarke ranted. “That is all sex and nudity. There are so many shows centered around this very true fact that people reproduce.” The Mother of Dragons makes another valid point, “People fuck for pleasure — it’s part of life.” Touché.

Clarke was responding to a report that stated Pornhub’s traffic was down 4.5% during the Season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones. To be fair, there was very little sex and nudity in Season 7 of Game of Thrones. And with so many plot lines to tie up and only six episodes to do so in the final season, there probably won’t be enough time for the hit show to boast many sex scenes. But with a budding relationship between Daenerys and Jon Snow, we might get one last epic incestual sex scene. Sorry, Jaime and Cersei Lannister.
