Eminem and Ed Sheeran don’t have a lot in common when it comes to musical styles. The 50-year-old rapper from Detroit and 32-year-old pop star from England are two of the 2000s biggest stars, nonetheless.

Eminem burst on to the scene in a big way in 1997 with his album Slim Shady, and Ed Sheeran made it big with his debut album + in 2002. Since, each has respectively sold out shows across the globe. And, Ed Sheeran is doing that right now.

Sheeran is in the midst of his international hit tour “Subtract”, that is the one of the biggest tours in the world this summer, along with acts by Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. He played some big stadiums in the UK, but has mostly focused on smaller venues in the USA for more intimate performances, despite the fact he could sell out much larger venues.

On Saturday, he played at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in suburban Detroit in front of a sellout crowd. And, those lucky ticket holders were in for a huge surprise when local legend Eminem came out on stage.

Take a look as Eminem joins Ed Sheeran on stage to help perform arguably Eminem’s biggest hit “Lose Yourself”, from the movie “8 Mile”.

Then, they teamed up for another Eminem hit, the ballad “Stan”. The song was popularized with Sir Elton John featuring, as well. The two of them hooked up to play the song at the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

What an awesome surprise for fans in attendance. Sheeran’s next show is next Friday in Nashville, TN. Also, yes, I can’t believe Eminem is 50, either.
