Fans Had Some Wildly Differing Reactions To Emma Watson Launching Her Own Gin Brand

Actress Emma Watson and brother Alex are launching a gin brand in the United Kingdom called Renais.

Renais gin is an “ode” to her family’s vineyard in Chablis, Burgundy, according to a recent Instagram post.

“With a heart full of warmth and nostalgia, I am thrilled to introduce – Renais Gin. It is an ode to the sun-kissed vineyards of Chablis where my family has been making wine these past 30 years. Renais Gin is our love letter to Chablis; a carbon-neutral product, lovingly made from upcycled wine grapes, Emma Watson wrote.

“I’m having a proud sister moment,” Watson added.

That’s not all. Not only is Renais gin an “ode” to their family’s vineyard, a love letter to Chablis, and a lovingly made carbon-neutral product, according to Alex Watson, it is also “a modern brand, based on tradition, heritage and legacy reimagined for the present and future.”

The name Renais is derived from the French word for rebirth.

“Every sip of Renais is reminiscent and respectful of the land from which it came – great gin shouldn’t cost the earth,” Alex Watson continued.

“By carefully selecting the finest botanicals unique to the Chablis terroir, Renais has a crisp, refreshing taste balanced by subtle minerality. Perfect sipped neat over ice, in a G&T or in your favourite cocktail.”

I don’t know about you, but based on these descriptions, about the only thing missing from this gin is a few drops from the Fountain of Youth and a Lazarus Pit.
