The First Clip From The Third Season Of ‘Stranger Things’ Takes A Trip To The Pool

First Clip From The Third Season Of Stranger Things Goes To The Pool

Netflix

July 4th, 2019 is going to be a very big day. Oh, did you think I meant because it will be the 244th birthday of the United States of America? Ha. I can see how that might have been your first thought. That is kind of important.

No, I meant it will be a big day because after almost two years we will finally get to watch the third season of Stranger Things.

Oh, and we will also get to play the Stranger Things video game. (After we’ve read all of the books first, of course.)

Pretty cool day, right?

You know what else is cool? The fact that Netflix just dropped the first clip from season three.

In the clip, which has a very Fast Times at Ridgemont High vibe, we head to the Hawkins, Indiana pool to see what season two antagonist Billy Hargrove has going on for the summer.

Director and executive producer Shawn Levy said about the upcoming season in a March interview with Glamour, “It’s parades and the local swimming pool and maybe Billy without a shirt and bonfires and Fourth of July fireworks, so I can tell you that season three makes the most of that summer setting. It’s also a season of change, and changing the season, changing the vibe of that town, which summer does, right? That place feels different in summer, so that was a big part of our theme, which is change has come.”

Check out all of the previous news and trailers for Stranger Things season 3, which premieres, as I mentioned, on July 4th, right here.
