One of the more popular topics on social media are travel tips, especially when it comes to flying.

Sites like TikTok are littered with flight attendants who have been spilling the tea on what really happens on airplanes, the things you should do and not do, and the like.

Recently, one flight attendant took to another social media site, Reddit, and shared several flying and travel tips including one in which she warns against using the bathroom on a plane.

During a “Ask Me Anything” question and answer session, the flight attendant was asked, “Real talk: How dirty are the planes? What about the bathrooms?”

Her response?

“Planes are filthy. They don’t disinfect them. Bathrooms are basically just wiped down quickly between flights.”

Unfortunately, at least for her, she doesn’t have much of a choice.

“Do you have to use the same lavatories as passengers?” another person questioned.

“Yep, we do,” she replied. “Most of us try to avoid going in there if possible.”

Interestingly, back in August, a former flight attendant turned consumer travel expert, said there are actually several places on a plane worse than the toilet when it comes to germs.

Seatback trays, seatback pockets, seatbelts and and aisle headrests are in many cases worse than the bathroom.

Another interesting bit of information the flight attendant answered during her travel Q&A included her answer to the question: “If you could … have passengers stop doing three thing on planes; what would they be?”

Her responses?

“1. Stop taking their shoes off & walking around in socks or barefoot.

“2. Stop telling us too much information like, ‘Can I go to the bathroom? I’m having diarrhea.’

“3. For the love of everything that’s holy, use headphones. Nobody wants to hear your music or movie.”

As for her least favorite question to be asked as a flight attendant, it should come as little surprise that it is: “Are u part of the mile high club?”
