The internet is a wild place. For example, if you spend months tagging Academy Award-nominated MCU star Florence Pugh in enough videos about you saving her from an elaborate, action-movie-like scenario, you might just get her attention. Ask Instagram content creator Hugh Hocknull.
For nearly four months now, @hughhocknull has posted a series of videos to Instagram — all of which he’s filmed in a parking garage — that see him humourously act out how he reacts to certain scenarios compared to the average person.

The scenarios begin absurd enough — “Reg people when their girls on her period vs me”, “Reg people’s kid being bullied vs mine,” “Reg people when they get twerked on vs me,” etc. — before eventually devolving into all-out gonzo James Bond chaos.
The videos always end the same way: Hocknull heroically succeeds and impresses Florence Pugh in the process.
His latest video, however — posted on Wednesday, August 12, and captioned “Reg people when they get examined vs me” — actually got Pugh’s attention, as she not only liked the post but also followed Hocknull, who was obviously over the moon with the development.
It’s another busy year for Pugh, who has become one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood over the decade.
Her Marvel Cinematic Universe character Yelena Belova/Black Widow has a cameo role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and a seemingly central role in December’s Avengers: Doomsday, while she’ll also be reprising her role as Princess Irulan in Dune: Part Three later this year, too. Also on Pugh’s slate is the upcoming Netflix series East of Eden, which will release in the fall.
