Florence Pugh makes history with her role in Oppenheimer, as her birthday suit-wearing scenes in the film mark the first of Christopher Nolan’s career and the first to be shot on 70MM IMAX film.

Overseas, however, Pugh’s bare-all moment is being edited out with a terribly-rendered CGI black dress that’s been going viral on social media.

Alongside Pugh as J. Robert Oppenheimer’s lover Jean Tatlock, Oppenheimer — which impressively made over $82 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend — stars Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Emily Blunt.

The film, which is responsible for the biggest non-Batman box office debut of Christopher Nolan’s career, currently has a 94% critics’ score and a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and is expected to be a major contender at next year’s Academy Awards.

While the film is expected to contend in “below the line” categories like Best Sound and Best Editing, the performances of Murphy, Downey Jr., and Blunt are all being singled out as potential Oscar nominees.

In addition to Oppenheimer, Pugh is also set to appear in Dune: Part Two, which will be released in theaters in November (if it doesn’t get delayed to next year as a result of the ongoing actors’ strike, which is something that Warner Bros. is reportedly considering).

Next year, Pugh is also scheduled to reprise her Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Yelena Belova/Black Widow in the Jake Schreier-directed team-up film Thunderbolts, which will also star Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ayo Edebiri, Steven Yeun, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Harrison Ford.

At this time, Thunderbolts — which will be a part of the MCU’s ongoing “Phase 5” and will be one of three theatrical projects to release next year — is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. That too could change, however, given that actors’ and writers’ strikes remain ongoing and could disrupt production.
