A TikToker has gone viral after sharing their concern following a video circulating of a Disney World character collapsing mid-parade.
Parades are arguably the pinnacle of the Walt Disney World experience. However, one recent “Boo To You” parade in the Florida resort went viral for all the wrong reasons.
In a TikTok that has garnered 1.4 million views, TikToker user Tree (@tsh1123) expressed her concerns over a Disney World employee.
“There was a video posted yesterday from Disney World of the parade, and Wreck It Ralph was clearly not doing OK,” she says. “He was hunched over, and clearly that cast member was unconscious. And I’m an empath, and I can’t stop thinking about that cast member and hoping that they are OK.”
She then asks viewers if they had any updates on the cast member.
BroBible reached out to Tree via TikTok direct message and Walt Disney World’s public relations department via email.
Commenters were split.
“You can rest easy,” one wrote. “I’m sure the CM is ok, probably got overheated and dehydrated. My son does parades at Magic Kingdom and it’s no joke.”
“Heat exhaustion in these parks are so frequent,” a second added. “This heat has been brutal this year.”
“I am also an empath,” a third said. “I was also a dance teacher for years and had lots of kids go to Disney. This happens all the time at Disney World. It’s too hot.”
Other commenters took issue with Tree using the term “empath.”
“There’s no such thing as an empath,” a fourth complained.
“Empath?” a fifth asked. “It should just being concern for another human. We will label everything.”
What Was The Context?
Earlier in August, footage from a “Boo To You” parade at Walt Disney World, which was part of Mickey’s Not‑So‑Scary Halloween Party, went viral. A cast member was standing on the back of a van float in a blow-up Wreck-It-Ralph costume, but it quickly became clear that something was wrong.
Ralph appeared to slump at the front of the float. However, based on the way the character was leaning, this didn’t seem to be an inflation issue. In the video, you can also see a Disney cast member spot Ralph and quicken her pace while keeping an eye on him. The clip has amassed 946,700 views.
In another video, @jenstopit, a former theme park cast member, gave her theory on what happened after the parade. She noted that she’s “rather certain” Ralph is harnessed onto the float. This would explain why it was hard to get him off it. As well as this, she highlighted how they seemed to speed up the float once they noticed Ralph had seemingly collapsed.
“Once they get the float backstage, there they have multiple people that will help this person get off the float, get them out of that costume, and tend to them however they need responding to, if you will,” she says.
“But yes, we’ve talked about this before. Performers do pass out during parade route,” she adds. “It is hot […] it’s August, OK? It’s still very hot outside.”
As we know, Disney World takes security seriously. With that in mind, the cast member probably had the best possible care and hopefully, was feeling a lot better in no time.
