Just when you think 2020 can’t get any stranger we now have ‘flying turtles on the highway’ to add to the ever-expanding list of things to watch out for.

A driver in Savannah spotted what they believed to be a brick flying through the air and heading straight for her vehicle but it turned out to be a ‘flying turtle’ who unfortunately didn’t survive the incident after he (Mr. Turtle) was rushed way for medical treatment.

I’m trying to imagine how this must’ve gone down and all I can come up with is some car in front of this driver must’ve clipped the turtle in a way that sent it careening through the air. Almost as if a car clipped the edge of the turtle’s shell and popped it up as you’d do with a Solo Cup in ‘Flip Cup’. But how the turtle managed to smash through the windshield with such force AND GET STUCK THERE instead of sliding off is just as much of a mystery as to how it flew into the air to begin with.

The driver shared images on Facebook along with video of the incident:

If those Facebook pictures and videos aren’t loading for you for whatever reason, here’s what the caption reads:

My prior delimer… Mr Turtle was found at fault but he did not have insurance. He got escorted to the Wildlife reserve, I got stuck with the bill. So beware Savannah of flying turtle on the Truman Parkway. My brother almost lost his head. Besides my sugar going off the roof.. I am fine but disturbed..

According to Georgia’s WSBTV, the turtle initially survived the accident but later took the trip up to Turtle Heaven due to excessive blood loss, but not before it treated for injuries.

Flying turtles, murder hornets, wildfires, global health crisis, hurricanes, tornadoes, monsoons, earthquakes, the list goes on and on and on. 2020 is really out to break our resolve. Stay tough out there, my dudes.
