The first trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has been released. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa, taking over the role from Charlize Theron, who played the character in 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road.

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
In addition to Taylor-Joy as Furiosa, the film also stars Chris Hemsworth as the villain. Additional cast members include Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, and Quaden Bayles in supporting roles.
While Taylor-Joy has been on the rise to the top of Hollywood’s A-list in recent years, Furiosa is undoubtedly the biggest role of her career thus far as she’s not only being tasked with anchoring a franchise film but is taking over one of the most iconic female action hero roles of all time.
