After Gal Gadot had said in some interviews that DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran had told her that Wonder Woman 3 would be developed, the studio let it be known that no such conversation took place and that a third film in the franchise is not in development.
“You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. We love you as Wonder Woman. You’ve got nothing to worry about,” Gadot claimed they said.
As a result of the reports countering her claims about Wonder Woman 3 and the way this has all played out, Gadot is understandably getting clowned out for her seemingly bald-faced lie.

The 38-year-old Israeli actress first made her debut as Wonder Woman in 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was then followed up with 2017’s Wonder Woman.
Following those two projects, it really felt like Warner Bros. had something on their hands with Gadot’s version of the character, as she was a standout in BvS and anchored the very-solid Wonder Woman.
From there, however, the wheels began to come off. The theatrical cut of Justice League was a disaster, which was only made worse by director Joss Whedon using the character as more of a sexual object than a superhero.
Then came the deathblow in late 2020 in the form of Wonder Woman 1984, which is widely considered to be one of the worst superhero movies ever made.
While Gadot was briefly redeemed in 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League, further cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash did little to convince the studio that she was worth keeping around as they look to rebuild its DC franchise from the ground up.
At this time, Gunn is focusing on Superman: Legacy, which will be the first proper entry in the DCU when it hits theaters in 2025. Casting for the film began over the summer, with David Corenswet landing the role of Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan being cast as Lois Lane.
Gadot will next be seen in the Netflix action film Heart of Stone, which hit the streaming service on Friday, August 11, and currently has a 28% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
