Garrett Wilson Becomes Latest Jet To Call Out Inept Coaching Staff As Locker Room Continue To Divide

The New York Jets lost at home to the New England Patriots on Sunday by a score of 15-10. That much was expected.

What isn’t expected, though — or at the very least, tolerated — is how truly pitiful the Jets’ offensive unit is.

Across four quarters of football against the Pats, the Jets passed for just 157 yards and rushed for another 38 yards.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Jets receiver Garrett Wilson was asked if the offense did enough to challenge the Patriots depleted secondary, to which he replied “No.”

Then, when asked about the team’s offensive game plan in the matchup, Wilson said it was “above his pay grade.”

It’s certainly easy to feel for Wilson, who was expected to make the leap into the NFL’s elite tier of wide receivers with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball. Not only did Wilson not even get a chance to catch a single regular season pass from the future Hall of Famer, but he’s once again stuck with Zach Wilson.

Wilson’s comments about the team’s offensive game plan certainly aren’t the first sign that this team is beginning to fracture. Last week, following their 30-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Breece Hall called out the coaches for giving him just four carries.

Tensions have begun to boil over on the sidelines, too, as running back Michael Carter was seen screaming at the Jets’ running back coach, while Wilson was seen having an animated conversation with QB Zach Wilson during the game, as well.

Things certainly look like they will get uglier before they get prettier in New York as the team will be hosting the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

That game is being played at MetLife, so if Zach Wilson is still the Jets’ starting quarterback in that matchup, we might see Jets fans reach an entirely new level of hostility, as it’s become blatantly clear that the 24-year-old is perhaps the worst QB in the league.
