Last season, New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson was named Offensive Rookie of the Year after he posted 83 catches for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns during his first campaign in the NFL.

What makes Wilson’s rookie year even more impressive, of course, is the fact that he put those stats up while catching passes from a wildly subpar trio of quarterbacks: washed-up Joe Flacco, first-round bust Zach Wilson, and journeyman Mike White.

Now that Wilson is going to be catching passes from four-time MVP and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, though, the 22-year-old obviously has much higher expectations for himself heading into the 2023 season, according to the New York Post.

“I expect more than all that,” Wilson said of Rodgers saying he could be the best receiver in the league one day.

“For me, it’s always been about the ultimate confidence in myself and putting the work behind it so you know it can happen when the season comes around. I’m not buying into all that stuff too much. No one’s expectations for me are higher than my own.”

The Jets certainly need Wilson to take another leap during his sophomore season as he’s expected to be a centerpiece weapon on an offense that’s hoping to lead the franchise to their first playoff appearance since the 2010 season.

The playoffs aren’t the only goal the Jets should have for the season, though, as bookmakers currently believe that Rodgers, Wilson, and the rest of Gang Green are one of the likely contenders for next season’s Super Bowl.

At this time, only the Kansas City Chiefs (who won the Super Bowl last season), Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys have better odds of winning the Super Bowl since the New York Jets, who haven’t appeared in the NFL’s showpiece game since they won it with Joe Namath in 1969.
