Tony Hinchcliffe made an offensive joke about George Floyd during Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart. Floyd’s family is obviously unhappy with the barb.
During The Roast of Kevin Hart, Tony Hinchcliffe — best known for being in Joe Rogan’s cohort of glazers — made a joke about George Floyd being in hell.
“The Black community is so proud of you… right now George Floyd is looking up at us all laughing so hard he can’t breathe,” Hinchcliffe said.

Hinchcliffe either has some sort of obsession with Floyd or isn’t able to come up with any new material, as he also made a crack about him during The Roast of Tom Brady, saying that Rob Gronkowski “looked like the final boss in George Floyd the video game.”
George Floyd’s family believe that Tony Hinchcliffe is a racist and blame Kevin Hart for allowing him to make the joke about Floyd
Speaking to TMZ, Travis Cains, a spokesman for The Gianna and George Floyd Foundation, placed some of the blame on Hart himself, saying that “condoning Tony’s joke is sad for the culture.”
“George Floyd’s family and friends are appalled Tony Hinchcliffe was invited back for a Netflix roast and they’re blaming Kevin Hart for allegedly giving Tony the green light to do another joke about George … a joke they didn’t find funny in the slightest.”
“We’re told George’s family and friends feels like Kevin should’ve told Tony to stay off that topic if nothing else … and they’re baffled and disgusted by Tony’s apparent obsession with telling George Floyd jokes. George’s family and friends feel Tony is a “racist comedian” … and they’re wondering how Kevin would feel about these jokes if “one of his friends” died instead of George.” [via TMZ]
The foundation provided the following official statement to TMZ:
“We are trying to rebuild things for our community and make things better in our community. Let’s try to be a little bit more positive — and not sit up there doing colon inspections by white comedians.”
Hinchcliffe was largely brutalized during the Roast of Kevin Hart, particularly by Pete Davidson and Chelsea Handler. Davidson’s joke about Hinchcliffe went particularly viral on social media.
“Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, and that’s he’s definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat,” Davidson said.
