3 Ways To Take Eggnog Up A Notch This Holiday Season

If you have ever watched Christmas Vacation, you’d know that few drinks go as well with the holidays as good old eggnog. But since we are millennials (see: the generation that fell in love with Four Loko), you know we need to punch up our eggnog so that we can get as tuned up as humanly possible this holiday season.

With that in mind, here are three drink recipes that will help us accomplish our mission.

Bourbon Spiked Egg Nog
Ingredients:
– 1 ounce of Bourbon
– 1 ounce of 2% milk
– ¾ ounce of Winter Spice Syrup
– 1 egg yolk
– Ground nutmeg to garnish
– Serves 1

How to prepare:
– Pour bourbon, milk syrup, and egg yolk into cocktail shaker.
– Dry shake without ice for about 20 seconds.
– Then add ice and shake for another 15 seconds, until chilled.
– Strain cocktail into a glass, and sprinkle on that fresh nutmeg.

White Russian Egg Nog
Ingredients:
– 2 ounces of Vodka
– 1 ½ ounces of coffee liqueur (like Kahlua)
– 2 ounces of eggnog
– Cinnamon or nutmeg to garnish
– Serves 1

How to prepare:
– Fill an old-fashioned glass with vodka and coffee liqueur.
– Stir.
– Add in the eggnog and stir well, until combined.
– Add ice cubes, and serve with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg.

Mexican Eggnog
Ingredients:
– 1.5 ounces of Tequila
– 2 ounces of eggnog
– ½ ounces of simple syrup
– Pinch of cinnamon, salt & pepper
– Serves 1

How to prepare:
– Pour tequila, eggnog, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
– Shake to combine and serve chilled.
– Throw in a pinch of cinnamon, salt and pepper for an added kick.
