I recently got around to watching the HBO documentary Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Off. If you’re a child of the 90s who was exposed to a healthy dose of the X Games and the Pro Skater game franchise, it’s a must-watch. It was cool to not only relive that specific chapter of pop culture but also witness a surprisingly intimate and vulnerable picture of a documentary subject. Suffice it to say, many of us Gen Xers and millennials were heavily influenced by skateboarding culture, whether we ever stepped on a board or not.
