Jason and Lucia drinking beer in Grand Theft Auto VI
Rockstar Games has dreamed up a number of fictional products that contribute to the cultural satire in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. That includes multiple brands of nonexistent beer that will soon be available for purchase in real life as part of the promotional push for GTA VI.
The Grand Theft Auto series has been the source of plenty of controversy over the decades, and it’s pretty easy to understand why most companies wouldn’t want to be associated with video games that primarily revolve around players committing an impressive variety of crimes.
Those titles also feature a strong undercurrent of mockery that takes aim at American culture, and the folks at Rockstar Games have dreamed up a wide variety of fake brands that are designed to parody ones most gamers are familiar with in real life.
That includes plenty in the food and drink space, including Sprunk (GTA‘s take on Sprite), Burger Shot (largely based on Burger King’s branding), and Cluckin’ Bell (an amalgamation of KFC and Taco Bell).
There are also some fake beers that have only existed in the games, but that is no longer the case with some that are poised to be released around the same time as Grand Theft Auto VI.
A brewery in Florida is gearing up to produce real-life versions of beers from the Grand Theft Auto games
More than a dozen fictional beer brands have popped up in the Grand Theft Auto universe over the years.
That includes Pißwasser, a Budweiser parody that appeared for the first time in GTA IV (the name of which literally translates to “piss water” in German). That installment also marked the first appearance of Patriot Beer, which isn’t a direct send-up of any particular brand but parrots the uber-American marketing many companies opt to lean into.
Both of those beers have only existed in the virtual world of the Grand Theft Auto universe, but according to iGrandTheftAuto, they will apparently be for sale in the one we inhabit in the not-so-distant future based on labels that were recently approved by the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau.
The labels in question were submitted by Tripping Animals Brewing (located just outside of Miami in Doral, Florida), and it appears Rockstar contracted the brewery to produce Pißwasser and Patriot Beer, which both clock in at 4.2% ABV.

It’s unclear if a third lager dubbed “No Mames Vice City” will be appearing in GTA VI, but a label featuring a Chihuahua that will be plastered on a beer that boasts a 6% ABV was also approved.

As of this writing, there’s currently no clear timeline on the release of the beers or information concerning where they’ll be distributed, but it seems like it’s only a matter of time until they drop when you consider GTA VI is coming out on November 19th.
